Michael’s on Main is an upscale continental restaurant draped in old Hollywood glamour.  Pictures of celebrities such as Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn Monroe bring us back to a wonderful era, but Michael’s has a history of its own…..and it’s about to change.

Michael Nicosia opened his namesake restaurant in April 2014, a few storefronts down from where his father originally opened Four Star Steakhouse in 1958.  Like his father, Michael takes his menu very seriously, especially where steaks are concerned.  He offers a selection of Black Angus Certified steaks including a bone-in Cowboy steak and New York Sirloin.  

Shrimp Sherry, a very popular dish currently on the menu, is also an old family recipe that was served at Nicosia’s father’s restaurant; shrimp sautéed with Portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers and garlic in a sherry cream sauce.  

There is a nice variety of chicken, veal, and pork entrees and an extensive seafood selection, including Tango’s Zuppa di Pesce, which features clams, mussels, jumbo shrimp, and lobster tail over linguini in a mild Fra diablo sauce.  The name “Tango” is actually scattered throughout the menu, sometimes indicating the dish to have a little kick (Tango’s Calamari, Tango’s Rigatoni); it’s Nicosia’s nickname from his music business days in the 1980s.

In addition to the old time favorites, Michael’s chef, Rogelio Rosas, has weekly specials which allows his creativity and perfected favorites to be showcased.  Offering an ever changing array of comfort appetizers such as Short-Rib Rolls and Italian meatballs served with ricotta cheese and a grilled hot Italian pepper, as well as traditional entrees with a flair, such as Osso Bucco over fresh pappardelle pasta or mushroom risotto and Bronzino with fresh herbs, garlic and extra virgin olive oil .  He also is an artistic creator of soups….A variety of original and uniquely delicious soups that never disappoint.  Specials vary to include seafood, pasta, beef, lamb, veal and pork (a favorite includes a pounded Veal Chop Caprese, with fresh mozzarella and basil).

Our in-house pastry chef, presents fresh desserts such as crème brulee, tiramisu and warm bread pudding.  He also offers specialties that are not on the daily dessert menu, which include traditional Italian Napoleons and French eclairs, among other international desserts. The restaurant is also known for its Cannoli Dip – triangles of sugared cannoli shells served with a dish of chocolate chip ricotta dip.  

The wine list includes selections from California, Washington, New Zealand, Italy, France and Argentina, with many selections under $35.  There are also numerous varieties of house wine.

The cozy bar is available for those waiting for a table, or those unable to get one.  The bar has become a friendly and comfortable place for regular customers to have dinner and socialize with new and old friends.

Our popular 4 course pre fix menu is served Sunday through Thursday from 4pm-6pm which includes a choice of appetizer, salad, Entrée, coffee and selected desserts

Private parties are available every day from 12-3:30 pm, with a maximum of 50 people.

Reservations are recommended on Friday and Saturday evenings for parties of two or more.  Reservations are accepted Sunday through Thursday for parties of 5 or more.
